To accommodate U-bent T-8 lamps, Simkar offers the TEP242-240U Recessed Deep Parabolic Troffer in its Para-Spec line of louver troffers. The "U" troffer is 24" x 24" x 3" deep. It gives designers greater flexibility in designing high-efficiency T-8 lighting systems. All Para-Spec troffers optimize light distribution and eliminate iridescence; fixture efficiency is high, with a minimum housing reflectance of 88%.

Today's lighting systems must be built to take advantage of efficient technologies and/or rebate programs, while still conforming to current design preferences. The Para-Spec "U" troffer meets these demands. It accepts all T-8 ballasts, allowing designers to take full advantage of the energy savings possible with T-8 technology. The trim two-foot-square fixture with nine-cell louver configuration lends itself to attractive ceiling plans; for example, a dramatic contrasting black recess between the housing the louver creates a contemporary "floating-louver" effect.

Para-Spec troffers are engineered for the modern office and computerized workplace. The parabolic louvers with semi-specular anodized coating control high-angle reflection, largely preventing computer-screen glare. Manufactured in the U.S.A. to high quality standards, louver corners are mitred and all painted parts have a baked gloss enamel finish. For easy relamping, spring latches operate from both sides of the fixture.
