Fluorescent TWW Wall Washer from Simkar Corporation Replaces Incandescent Fixtures.

The Simkar Corporation has introduced the TWW Series Wall Washer, a twin-tube fluorescent lay-in lighting fixture for grid ceilings. The 2-ft. model uses one 40-watt "Biax-type" twin tube lamp; the 4-ft. model uses two lamps. Applications for TWW Series fixtures range from highlighting wall-mounted menus at fast-service food outlets to use in stores, lobbies, offices and exhibition rooms.

The new Wall Washer is an advantageous replacement for older incandescent fixtures using 150-watt R40 reflector lamps, which will be discontinued October 31, 1995, under the Federal Energy Policy Act (EPACT). The TWW Wall Washer saves either 70 or 110 watts per fixture when replacing a 150-watt incandescent, depending on whether a 4' or 2' fixture is installed. Over the 20,000-hour life of the lamp at $0.10 per kwh, that represents a savings of between $140 and $220. In addition, by outlasting the 150 R/FL lamp 10-to-one, the twin-tube fluorescent lamp saves the cost of nine lamps and the maintenance labor to replace them.

The TWW Series Wall Washer features a semi-specular asymmetric downward-throw reflector. It provides high optical performance, even lighting across the vertical surface without "scallops" along the ceiling line, and good color rendering. The energy-efficient standard unit can be further upgraded with an optional electronic ballast.
