PARTNERS

Simkar is an active member of, or supports, organizations that promote cooperation in the lighting industry, higher quality lighting or lighting standards, and lighting that is energy efficient and environmentally compatible.

The American Lighting Association is a trade association that unites lighting manufacturers, showrooms, distributors, manufacturer representatives, component manufacturers and industry-related companies dedicated to providing the public with quality residential lighting. ALA members offer a broad selection of products and design guidelines to assist consumers in meeting their lighting needs.

Energy Star® is a voluntary partnership among the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, product manufacturers, local utilities and retailers. Partners help promote efficient products by labeling with the Energy Star logo and educating consumers about the benefits of energy efficiency. Using Energy Star-labeled products reduces utility bills and helps the environment. Link to Energy Star.

Energy Star Buildings Allies are companies that manufacture, distribute, specify, finance, install or maintain energy-use products in the commercial and industrial marketplace. As an Energy Star Buildings Ally, Simkar helps EPA promote the five-stage Energy Star Buildings program, providing customers with the knowledge and resources necessary to implement profitable upgrades and optimize energy efficient measures.

The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) was founded in 1906 to establish scientific lighting recommendations and to disseminate that information to all interested parties. The Society has over 70 technical, research, and design and application committees to study all aspects of lighting. The Society's membership includes engineers, architects, lighting designers, educators, students, contractors, distributors, utility personnel, scientists, physicians and manufacturers.

The National Association of Electrical Distributors is the electrical distributors' source for networking, education, and service. Since 1908, NAED has helped electrical distributors grow, prosper and provide value-added service to their customers, suppliers and employees.

The National Association of Energy Service Companies advocates sound legislative and regulatory policies at both the federal and state levels to promote the cost-effective delivery of comprehensive energy services to all customer classes. NAESCO encourages high standards of quality and integrity among its members; disseminates information about developing technologies and their appropriate applications; and participates in legislative and regulatory proceedings which affect energy policy.

The National Association of Independent Lighting Distributors creates opportunities for business development and growth through education and member interaction.

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association develops standards for the electrical manufacturing industry. In addition, NEMA promotes safety in the manufacture and use of electrical products, conducts educational forums and represents industry interests in new and developing technologies.

The National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association promotes the use of independent manufacturers representatives as an effective marketing approach. NEMRA serves as a resource for electrical manufacturers to access over 6,500 salespeople calling on all facets of the electrical industry. NEMRA also provides members with education, training, group services and networking opportunities.

The National Lighting Bureau is a nonprofit organization founded in 1976 to educate lighting decision-makers about the economic benefits of High Benefit Lighting. Designed to support performance of the tasks for which illumination is required, High Benefit Lighting correlates the requirements of people, spaces and tasks. After the parameters for an effective lighting system have been established, design and specification can be used to achieve lighting objectives while minimizing the cost of energy consumption and maintenance. The NLB is sponsored by professional societies, trade associations, manufacturers and agencies of the federal government.
